Florida's opening weekend, by the numbers
Florida high school football opened its 2026 season on Friday, August 21. Recruit Intel scored every recorded box score from that weekend and ranked the top performers by RPM, our Recruit Performance Metric. What follows are the five highest scores in the state among the class of 2027 and later. Every stat line below comes from our canonical database, drawn from recorded box scores for games of August 21 and 22, and each player is verified by record against a current roster.
The top five performers

- Jacob Hilton, DL, Countryside (Clearwater), class of 2029. 15 tackles, 2.5 for loss, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble against Palm Harbor University, and he added a receiving touchdown. RPM 100.
- Ty O'Dell, LB, First Academy (Leesburg), class of 2027. 9 tackles, 3 for loss and 2 sacks against Lakeside Christian, with 2 catches for 21 yards and a touchdown. RPM 99.8.
- Tyrese Jefferson, RB, Melbourne, class of 2029. 31 carries for 314 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns against Heritage. RPM 99.5.
- Wes Ammons, QB, Wildwood, class of 2027. 16 of 26 for 385 passing yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions against Marathon. RPM 99.5.

RPM ranks a single game's production as a percentile against every other recorded box score in the same window, rewarding volume, efficiency, scoring and strength of opponent in one number.
