Three boards, one state

Indiana opens its 2026 season this week. Recruit Intel built three verified boards for the state: the best player at every position, the recruits holding real Division 1 offers with no star rating anywhere, and the programs producing the most offers. Every number below comes from our canonical database and is stated with the sample it rests on. Player figures were verified against the current roster on 2026-08-20.

The best at every position

One player per position slot, classes 2027 through 2029. These ten hold 229 verified Division 1 offers between them. Offer counts are distinct college offers per player.

  • QB, Oscar Sloan, Center Grove (Greenwood), class of 2028. 22 verified offers. A three-star and one of two class of 2028 names on the board.
  • RB, Keyon Thomas, Warren Central (Indianapolis), class of 2027. Committed to Iowa, 18 verified offers. A three-star.
  • WR, Monshun Sales, Lawrence North (Indianapolis), class of 2027. Committed to Indiana, 40 verified offers, the most of any player on this board. A five-star, the highest-rated player here.
  • TE, Mason Oglesby, New Palestine (New Palestine), class of 2027. Committed to Kansas, 32 verified offers. A four-star.
  • OL, Caleb Johnson, Noblesville (Noblesville), class of 2027. Committed to Michigan State, 27 verified offers. A four-star.
  • DL, Jayce Brewer, Franklin Central (Indianapolis), class of 2027. Committed to Michigan, 34 verified offers, an edge rusher. A four-star.
  • LB, Makyi Hines, Avon (Avon), class of 2027. 3 verified offers.
  • CB, DJ Mitchell, Franklin Central (Indianapolis), class of 2027. Committed to Miami (OH), 11 verified offers. A three-star.
  • S, Drake Coellner, Carmel (Carmel), class of 2028. 29 verified offers. A four-star.
  • ATH, Austin Phillips, East Noble (Kendallville), class of 2029. 13 verified offers. A four-star and the youngest player on the board.

Monshun Sales is the marquee name, a five-star receiver committed to Indiana who leads the board with 40 offers. Franklin Central places two players here on its own, Brewer on the edge and Mitchell at cornerback. The class of 2029 name to file away is Austin Phillips, who already holds 13 offers as an athlete, and two class of 2028 names carry real weight before their junior year in Oscar Sloan at quarterback and Drake Coellner at safety.

The recruits the rankings have not caught

Classes 2028 and 2029, real Division 1 offers, and zero stars across 247Sports, On3, Rivals and ESPN as of 2026-08-20. These ten hold 57 verified offers between them, and we did not pad the board.

It is a ratings gap, not a discovery claim: the programs recruiting these players found them long before we listed them. When the services get to them, this dated page is the receipt.

The programs producing the offers

Recruit Intel ranked the state's top 10 high schools by offer production across the 2023 through 2026 classes, the sum of verified Division 1 offers held by their recent recruits. Across these 10 schools sit 81 recruits holding 603 offers between them.

  6. Decatur Central (Indianapolis): 46 offers across 5 recruits
  7. Brownsburg (Brownsburg): 46 offers across 6 recruits
  8. Avon (Avon): 45 offers across 8 recruits
  9. Warren Central (Indianapolis): 45 offers across 7 recruits
  10. New Palestine (New Palestine): 44 offers across 5 recruits

Carmel leads the state at 127 offers across 14 recruits, more than the next two schools carry between them. The board leans heavily on Indianapolis and its suburbs, with Cathedral, Lawrence Central, Decatur Central and Warren Central all inside the city and Carmel, Westfield, Fishers, Brownsburg and Avon ringing it, a reminder that the state's Division 1 pipeline runs through the metro.

How we counted

Every number here comes from the Recruit Intel canonical database. Offer counts are distinct college offers per player rather than raw offer rows. At the offensive and defensive line slots, and at any slot whose 2027 through 2029 pool carried no recorded box-score production, the board ranks on verified offer volume alone rather than a production blend. A player counts as unrated only when every one of the five services, 247Sports, On3, Rivals, ESPN and the composite, lists no stars. Every named player was re-verified against the current roster on 2026-08-20 and pinned to a database record id, not matched on name alone.
