Three boards, one state

Pennsylvania opens its 2026 season this week. Recruit Intel built three verified boards for the state: the best player at every position, the recruits holding real Division 1 offers with no star rating anywhere, and the programs producing the most offers. Every number below comes from our canonical database and is stated with the sample it rests on. Player figures were re-verified against the current roster on 2026-08-20.

The best at every position

One player per position slot, classes 2027 through 2029. These ten hold 229 verified Division 1 offers between them. Offer counts are distinct college offers per player.

  • QB, James Armstrong, Hopewell (Aliquippa), class of 2028. Committed to Penn State, 28 verified offers. Threw for 2,232 yards and 21 touchdowns and ran for 799 yards and 16 more over 12 games in 2025.
  • RB, Kelvin Morrison, Hickory (Hermitage), class of 2027. Committed to Virginia Tech, 20 verified offers. Ran for 1,645 yards and 19 touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 65 yards over 10 games in 2025.
  • WR, Brandon Murphy Jr., Clairton (Clairton), class of 2028. 26 verified offers. Caught 38 passes for 704 yards and 9 touchdowns and ran for 150 yards and 4 more over 14 games in 2025.
  • TE, Dajuan Craighead, Imani Christian Academy (Pittsburgh), class of 2027. 6 verified offers. Caught 4 passes for 114 yards and 4 touchdowns over 10 games in 2025.
  • OL, Jimmy Kalis, Central Catholic (Pittsburgh), class of 2027. Committed to Ohio State, 50 verified offers, the most of any player on this board.
  • DL, George Parkinson IV, Malvern Prep (Malvern), class of 2028. 27 verified offers.
  • LB, Minikon Johnson, Bishop Canevin (Pittsburgh), class of 2027. Committed to UConn, 18 verified offers.
  • CB, Kia Jones Jr., Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh), class of 2028. 38 verified offers.
  • S, JoJo Delecce, Roman Catholic (Philadelphia), class of 2027. 5 verified offers.
  • ATH, Brandon Bennett, Montour (Mckees Rocks), class of 2028. 11 verified offers. Threw for 1,453 yards and 15 touchdowns and ran for 414 yards and 6 more over 11 games in 2025.

Jimmy Kalis anchors the board. His 50 offers are the most of any player here and he is committed to Ohio State from Pittsburgh's Central Catholic. James Armstrong is the other marquee, a Penn State quarterback commit who accounted for 37 total touchdowns in 2025. Pittsburgh programs supply five of the ten slots, with Philadelphia and the Harrisburg corridor filling out the rest.

The recruits the rankings have not caught

Classes 2028 and 2029, real Division 1 offers, and zero stars across 247Sports, On3, Rivals and ESPN as of 2026-08-20. These nine hold 46 verified offers between them, and we did not pad the board.

It is a ratings gap, not a discovery claim: the programs recruiting these players found them long before we listed them. When the services get to them, this dated page is the receipt.

The programs producing the offers

Recruit Intel ranked the state's top 10 high schools by offer production across the 2023 through 2026 classes, the sum of verified Division 1 offers held by their recent recruits. Across these 10 schools sit 74 recruits holding 722 offers between them.

  5. Central Catholic (Pittsburgh): 55 offers across 8 recruits
  6. Malvern Prep (Malvern): 53 offers across 6 recruits
  7. Cheltenham (Wyncote): 52 offers across 3 recruits
  8. Aliquippa (Pittsburgh): 45 offers across 4 recruits
  9. Susquehanna Township (Harrisburg): 40 offers across 5 recruits
  10. Neumann Goretti (Philadelphia): 37 offers across 4 recruits

Imhotep Institute leads the state at 142 offers across 12 recruits, and Philadelphia programs hold four of the top ten. Cheltenham stands out for concentration, 52 offers from just three recruits, while the board reaches from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh to Harrisburg.

How we counted

Every number here comes from the Recruit Intel canonical database. Offer counts are distinct college offers per player rather than raw offer rows. Production lines are season totals from game level box scores, and each one states the number of games it covers. At the offensive and defensive line slots, and at any slot whose 2027 through 2029 pool carried no recorded box-score production, the board ranks on verified offer volume alone rather than a production blend.

Star status was re-derived live from all five rating columns at 247Sports, On3, Rivals and ESPN, and every player on the unrated board returned zero at all five services. One name from the original build, the top recruit on the unrated board, has since been given a three-star grade by 247Sports and was removed: a board of players carrying no rating anywhere cannot hold a rated player, so it stands at nine. Candidates whose entire offer list came from a single source inside a two day window with no corroboration were routed out before the boards were set, and known duplicate and wrong-school records were filtered out of the totals. Every named player was re-verified against the current roster on 2026-08-20 and pinned to a single database record by id, because a common name can return many separate records across the country.
