Four boards, one region

South Florida opens its 2026 season this week. Recruit Intel built four verified boards for the region: the best player at every position, the recruits holding real offers with no star rating anywhere, the young producers with no offers yet, and the programs producing the most Division 1 offers. Every number below comes from our canonical database and is stated with the sample it rests on. One note on the map: our South Florida region follows the database tag, which reaches beyond the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach core to include the southwest coast, so Sarasota, Venice and Port Charlotte appear on these boards.

The best at every position

One player per position slot, classes 2027 through 2029. These ten hold 355 verified Division 1 offers between them, the deepest position board of any region we have previewed. Offer counts are distinct college offers, re-verified against the current roster on 2026-08-15.

  • QB, Davin Davidson, Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota), class of 2027. Committed to Florida, 33 verified offers. Threw for 2,360 yards and 23 touchdowns and ran for 3 more scores over 15 games in 2025.
  • RB, Amos Bradford, Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood), class of 2027. Committed to Purdue, 29 verified offers.
  • WR, Julius Jones, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), class of 2027. Committed to Notre Dame, 46 verified offers. Caught 58 passes for 876 yards and 14 touchdowns over 14 games in 2025.
  • TE, Peter Pierre, Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood), class of 2028. 42 verified offers. Caught 20 passes for 243 yards and 5 touchdowns over 11 games in 2025.
  • OL, Mark Matthews, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), class of 2027. Committed to Texas A&M, 41 verified offers. Linemen are ranked on offer volume.
  • DL, Jamar Thompson, West Boca Raton (Boca Raton), class of 2027. Committed to Georgia Tech, 44 verified offers.
  • LB, Debonaire Johnson, Miami Carol City (Opa Locka), class of 2027. Committed to UCF, 25 verified offers.
  • CB, Loia Valade, West Boca Raton (Boca Raton), class of 2027. Committed to Texas A&M, 22 verified offers.
  • S, Turmarian Moreland Jr., Palm Beach Lakes (West Palm Beach), class of 2027. Committed to Virginia Tech, 24 verified offers.
  • ATH, A'mir Sears, Columbus (Miami), class of 2027. Committed to Miami, 49 verified offers, the most of any player on this board.

Two names stand out. A'mir Sears carries 49 offers and a commitment to Miami, the largest offer sheet on the board. Julius Jones backed his 46 offers with 876 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in a 14 game season, production to match the recruitment.

The recruits the rankings have not caught

These ten hold 194 verified Division 1 offers between them and carry zero stars on 247Sports, On3, Rivals and ESPN as of 2026-08-15. It is a ratings gap, not a discovery claim: the programs recruiting these players found them first. Six of the ten are 2029s, a class the services have not yet rated.

  1. Martell Shannon, DL, Miami Southridge (Miami), 2029. 36 offers.
  2. Jamar Brinson, ATH, Miami Carol City (Opa Locka), 2029. 23 offers.
  3. Jaelin Coach, DL, Miami Carol City (Opa Locka), 2029. 23 offers.
  4. Sho Wright, WR, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), 2029. 20 offers.
  5. Ethan Hook, LB, Atlantic (Delray Beach), 2028. 19 offers.
  6. Derrick Jones Jr., CB, Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood), 2029. 18 offers.
  7. Leroy Thomas, WR, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), 2028. 15 offers.
  8. Travarous Bain, WR, Miami Northwestern (Miami), 2028. 14 offers.
  9. Jasiah Crockett, WR, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), 2029. 13 offers.
  10. Tra'vion Lester, LB, Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota), 2028. 13 offers.

Martell Shannon leads the board. He is a 2029 defensive lineman at Miami Southridge with 36 offers, Miami, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Auburn among them, and no star rating at any service.

The producers with no offers yet

These ten are the region's most productive young players who hold zero Division 1 offers and zero stars. The claim is narrow and it is all production: every name below is a 2028 or 2029 who put up a real season and has not yet drawn an offer. Nine of the ten carry a verified 2025 box-score line, and the tenth is on the board on an earlier season.

  • Steven Wright, QB, South Broward (Hollywood), 2028. Threw for 1,040 yards and 10 touchdowns and ran for 483 yards and 5 touchdowns over 10 games in 2025.
  • Bruce Blanden, RB, Port Charlotte (Port Charlotte), 2028. Ran for 809 yards and 9 touchdowns over 14 games in 2025.
  • Andrew Simonns, RB, South Dade (Homestead), 2028. Ran for 667 yards and 4 touchdowns over 9 games in 2025.
  • Antonio Simmons, WR, South Dade (Homestead), 2028. Caught 32 passes for 590 yards and 2 touchdowns over 8 games in 2025.
  • Mario Agnant, ATH, Hollywood Hills (Hollywood), 2028. Caught 30 passes for 496 yards and 5 touchdowns over 10 games in 2025.
  • Levi Thomas, WR, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), 2028. Caught 25 passes for 391 yards and 5 touchdowns over 8 games in 2025.
  • Jermain Kelson, WR, Miami Southridge (Miami), 2029. Caught 28 passes for 318 yards and a touchdown over 7 games in 2025.
  • Dontrell Murray, DT, Atlantic (Delray Beach), 2029. Recorded 13 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks over 10 games in 2025.
  • Braylen Brown, RB, Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota), 2028. Ran for 302 yards and 5 touchdowns over 9 games in 2025.
  • Drew Barbar, WR, Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale), 2028.

Steven Wright is the one to file away. He is a 2028 quarterback at South Broward who accounted for more than 1,500 total yards and 15 touchdowns in a 10 game season with zero offers on the board.

The programs producing the offers

Recruit Intel ranked the region's top 10 high schools by offers produced across their 2023 through 2026 classes. Across those 10 schools sit 173 recruits holding 1,552 Division 1 offers between them, an average of about 9 offers per recruited player.

  1. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale): 227 offers across 25 recruits
  2. Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood): 214 offers across 21 recruits
  3. Miami Northwestern (Miami): 194 offers across 23 recruits
  4. American Heritage (Fort Lauderdale): 179 offers across 22 recruits
  5. Cardinal Newman (West Palm Beach): 153 offers across 13 recruits
  6. Miami Central (Miami): 145 offers across 26 recruits
  7. Miami Edison (Miami): 139 offers across 10 recruits
  8. Venice (Venice): 111 offers across 13 recruits
  9. Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota): 100 offers across 10 recruits
  10. Miami Palmetto (Miami): 90 offers across 10 recruits

St. Thomas Aquinas and Chaminade-Madonna set the pace, and it is no coincidence that they also supplied the top of the position board: eight of this preview's cream and unrated names come off those two rosters. Miami Edison is the efficiency case, 139 offers from just 10 recruited players.

How we counted

Every number here comes from the Recruit Intel canonical database. Offer counts are distinct college offers per player rather than raw offer rows. Production lines are season totals from game level box scores, and each one states the number of games it covers, because a per game rate built on a two game sample is not a season.

Every player named on the position board, the unrated board and the no-offer board was resolved to a single database record by id before publish, then re-verified against the current roster on 2026-08-15 for class year, school, offer count and star status at all four major services. Common names return many separate records, so we never match on a name and school alone. During verification one contested record was dropped from these boards under that rule.

The position board is the best player at each slot across the 2027 through 2029 classes, ranked on a blend of production and offers, with linemen ranked on offers alone. The no-offer board is limited to 2028 and 2029 players who carry a recorded season of production.

Kickoff is this week

South Florida opens the 2026 season this week, one of the Recruit Intel regional preseason previews rolling out in kickoff order. The unrated and no-offer boards above are dated on purpose. When these players get rated or get their first offer, the timestamp on this page is the receipt.
