Three boards, one region

South Georgia, from the Valdosta corridor east to the Brunswick coast and west through the Columbus and LaGrange belt, opens its 2026 season this week. Recruit Intel built three verified boards for the region: the best player at every position, the recruits holding real offers with no star rating anywhere, and the programs producing the most Division 1 offers. Every number below comes from our canonical database and is stated with the sample it rests on. One note on the map: the Savannah metro is its own Recruit Intel region, so schools in Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill and the rest of the coastal cluster are counted there, not here.

The best at every position

One player per position slot across the 2027 through 2029 classes. These ten hold 273 verified Division 1 offers between them. Offer counts are distinct college offers, re-verified against the current roster on 2026-08-19.

Charles Nance of Dooly County (Vienna) leads the board on raw volume with 49 verified offers and a Western Michigan pledge. Two of the region's most recruited skill players are bound for the SEC: receiver Jabari Watkins (Thomas County Central) at 38 offers and committed to Arkansas, and tight end George Lamons Jr. (Brooks County) at 39 offers and committed to Auburn. Not every slot is an offer race. Cornerback Aaden Peterson (Southeast Bulloch) holds his slot with a single offer, a production pick from the blend that ranks every skill position.

The recruits the rankings have not caught

These ten hold 72 verified Division 1 offers between them and carry zero stars on 247Sports, On3, Rivals and ESPN as of 2026-08-19. It is a ratings gap, not a discovery claim: the programs recruiting these players found them first. The board spans the 2028 and 2029 classes.

Kaevone Thomas, a 2028 receiver at Lowndes, tops this board with 16 offers and no star at any service, more than double the next name. Tight end Gary Pringle (Thomas County Central) follows at 13.

The programs producing the offers

Recruit Intel ranked the region's top 10 high schools by offers produced across their 2023 through 2026 classes. Across those 10 schools sit 76 recruits holding 731 Division 1 offers between them, an average of about 10 offers per recruited player.

Valdosta leads the region with 138 offers across 11 recruits, and its crosstown neighbor Lowndes adds 57 more, giving one city two of the top five programs. Carver out of Columbus is right behind at 121 offers across 12 recruits.

How we counted

Every number here comes from the Recruit Intel canonical database, from live reads on 2026-08-19. Offer counts are distinct college offers per player rather than raw offer rows, sourced from 247Sports, On3 and verified social, with MaxPreps the source of record for production. Every player named on the position board and the unrated board was resolved to a single database record by its id before publish, then checked against the current roster for class year, school, offer count and star status at all four major services. Common names return many separate records in our database, so we never match on a name and school alone.

The position board is the best player at each slot across the 2027 through 2029 classes, ranked on a blend of on-field production and offers, with offensive and defensive linemen ranked on offers alone because linemen do not accumulate box-score statistics. A skill slot whose regional pool carries no recorded production this cycle is ranked on offers alone as well, which is why a low-offer name can still hold its slot on production. The unrated board is limited to 2028 and 2029 players who carry real offers and no star at any service. It is capped at ten rows, and when the qualifying pool is smaller the board runs short rather than pad with names that do not clear the bar. The producer board counts every offer-holder at each school across the 2023 through 2026 classes.
